Concise curriculm vitae (CV) Writing Guide

What is a CV?

A CV or curriculum vitae is a marketing tool. With your CV you will be able to promote yourself. Imagine the CV as being a brochure that will list the benefits of a particular service. The service being your time and skills!

Questions to ask your-self?

  1. If I am the employer and I got this CV would I accept it or not? i.e. (Look at the CV from the employer’s point of view).
  2. Would you stand out against the competition (the other candidates) and would the manager want to talk you for a possible job?

How to write a good CV?

  1. Your CV must be easy to read, short and attractive.
  2. Avoid large number of pages it should not exceed 2 pages.
  3. You should not have only one CV i.e. (you should have X number of CVs as long as you can see yourself in X different position each one of them focuses on the field it targets).
  4. Your CV must tells the employer I am the right choice for your company
  5. Don’t get very much into details in your CV too long but can also end up simply boring the recruiter!, Also in order to reach the interview because if you write all the tiny details then you will not have much space to talk in the interview.
